June is proving to be an amazing month of activity for me in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am honored to have two shows and be presenting a workshop. #HelloMyNameWas is part of Bodhi Life: A Transgender New Media Artist’s Digital Memoir.
As a Transgender person, I was taught that I should have shame about my history; I shouldn’t tell anyone my birth name and I should appear as though I have had the same gender experience my entire life. I had gone so far in upholding these ideas, in perpetuating my feeling of shame, as to digitally alter past photos of myself to flatten my chest and shorten my hair. Half of my life I have been out as Transgender and living in a way where I feel more comfortable in my own skin, but this expression does not negate the first half of my life. I have a right to be proud of my entire existence. Bodhi Life is about having ownership over my whole life and all of my experiences and to encourage others to do the same.

On opening weekend of CURRENTS 2016, the 1st-Mile Institute and invited guests will convene a special program on the critical issues, understandings and strategic actions needed for care of temporal/unstable media arts, digital collections and of our increasingly fragile cultural future.
Curators, conservators, archivists, collectors and others are encouraged to attend this one-day intensive, needs-based workshop, led by leading experts in the field.

Located in historic, downtown Santa Fe at the iconic DeVargas Park, FANTASE Fest is a unique nighttime event where a diverse mix of thousands of people gather to celebrate innovative art, performance, local food and music, and community engagement. Complementing the site-specific art installations that will be commissioned through the generosity of a NM Arts grant, the evening will also include local bands on two different stages, food trucks, a skate jam in the skate park, performances, and more!

H.U.M.A.N. is an interactive projection cube that reflects the current state of human evolution. In these modern times of climate change, cultural revolutions, and unveiling of corruption the landscape is constantly changing. H.U.M.A.N. plays on the notion that suffering is part of the human experience and that it is through release of our attachments that we find human connection and compassion. H.U.M.A.N. allows the viewers to interact with strangers and share consciousness through the art of interactive display.
